Located at Abu Dhabi’s newest exciting waterfront destination, Marsa Mina – District 10 Cafe is an interior fit out project in collaboration with Shell + Core UAE. The brief specified for a clean, enriched space promoting a modernized Emirati culture while mirroring the existing brands charm as a natural platform for exchange of books, art and music.
Design details included triangular panels for backsplash with similar details seen across other elements in the space; signage and shelf lighting are incorporated to demarcate and animate the service area of the cafe; walls behind cafe counter experiments with light and shadow together with accessory contrasts; branding accentuated by a subtly engraved logo and gently illuminated by a recessed strip light; interaction of seating, plants and shelving between the columns; backsplash is formed using the main counter finish in a white wood marble, with the same details carried through - creating a functional, elegant backdrop. District 10 specialty coffee collaborated with modern catering Nomad in this space which is located inside the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal in Marsa Mina.
